Tibor Kalman Poster
Typographic poster created to promote a potential event featuring Tibor Kalman at the Cincinnati Contemporary Arts Center. Based on his quote: “I am interested in imperfections, quirkiness, insanity, unpredictability.”
The idiosyncratic visual style captures the essence of Tibor Kalman, incorporating colors from various works of his to create an unexpected palette as well as a unique wordmark that mirrors his bold use of typography.
This poster won Best of Category for Print Poster in the 2014 Horizon Interactive Awards and silver in the 2016 SIA Summit Creative Awards.
This project involved extensive research on the chosen designer, Tibor Kalman, then exploration of typographic compositions which reflect information and constraints given. Throughout the process I aimed to create meaningful, cohesive and dynamic typographic structures with careful consideration to hierarchy and communication.
